County Durham-headquartered Filtronic has won a new contract with a US customer for technology used on satellites.

It follows a £6m contract announced with the same customer in March 2026 and adds a new technology for satellite payloads, supporting high-bandwidth, low-latency connectivity at mmWave frequencies.

A strong year

In a trading update for the year to 31 May 2026, Filtronic said it expects revenue of at least £55.5m and adjusted EBITDA of at least £11.1m, subject to audit.

The company enters its 2027 financial year with an order book that already covers 90% of consensus revenue forecasts.

Chief executive Nat Edington said the contract reflected the strength of its customer relationships, and that recent design wins had the potential to be transformational for the business over time.
