Nine consultant urologists from across the North East have joined forces to open a specialist private clinic in Gateshead.

Forbury Newcastle, based at The Beverley Hospital in Team Valley, brings the specialists together as Tyneside Urology Partners. All nine also hold NHS posts at The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

A partnership model

Rather than running separate private practices, the consultants will work as a partnership and match each patient with the specialist best suited to their condition. The clinic will treat conditions including kidney stones, enlarged prostate, prostate and bladder cancers, recurrent infections and incontinence.

It opens as 368,963 people in England were waiting for NHS urology treatment at the end of July 2026. The clinic will see insured and self-funding patients.

A new market for Forbury

The clinic is a joint venture between The Forbury Clinic, which already operates in Reading and London, and The Beverley Hospital. It also offers paperless prescribing and AI-assisted clinic letters to speed up communication with patients and GPs.
