Sunderland transport technology business Land Digital has secured £700k to accelerate its growth. The round includes £500k from Northstar Ventures’ Venture Sunderland fund.
The company, led by Jon Leighton, builds technology that helps vehicles move through places such as toll roads, tunnels and airports more smoothly.
What it does
Its software can use number-plate recognition and AI to identify vehicles, process payments and automate journeys that would otherwise rely on barriers, tickets or manual checks.
The technology is already being used on major transport infrastructure. Land Digital now sees a significant opportunity in areas such as airport parking, and the new funding will help it pursue that.
