North East events entrepreneur Conleth Maenpaa, founder of Lindisfarne Festival, has launched INLET Ticketing, a subscription app that gives members access to exclusive ticket opportunities for live events.

How it works

The service costs £5 a month and covers gigs, comedy, festivals and other live events. A free tier gives users limited access to selected events before they commit to a subscription.

INLET is initially focused on music, comedy and festivals, and is already working with partners ranging from grassroots venues to major concerts and large festivals.

Breaking the algorithm

Maenpaa said building Lindisfarne Festival from scratch gave him insight into both sides of live events. He argues that algorithms tend to feed people more of the same, so they miss events, artists and venues on their doorstep. INLET is designed to encourage audiences to try new venues and support artists and promoters.
