Baby products brand Nuby has chosen Gateshead for its new European headquarters, bringing a £5.7m investment to the borough.

The company has relocated to a 115,000 sq ft facility in Birtley, which will be its long-term base for European operations.

Jobs and growth

The site employs 58 people. Four new roles have already been created, and more are expected as the business expands its finance, supply, product and marketing functions.

Nuby also plans further investment in the site, including installing solar panels.

Why Gateshead

Managing director Mark Dolan said Gateshead gave the company “a great central location for our team across the North East”, along with good access to the A1 for its haulage and logistics needs.

Councillor Steve Campion, Gateshead Council’s cabinet member for economic development, called the decision “fantastic news for the borough”.
